INWOOD, W.Va. – University Healthcare and University Healthcare Physician officials gathered on Wednesday with representatives from the Berkeley County Council and the Chamber of Commerce of Martinsburg and Berkeley County to celebrate the official opening of Inwood Medical and WVU Urgent Care.

Inwood Medical, a 10,000 square foot building located on Route 51 (Gerrardstown Road) in Inwood, opened in 2012.  Approximately 5,000 square feet of the one-story medical building houses Inwood Family Medicine and the new Urgent Care which opened in late October.

According to Anthony Zelenka, president and chief operating officer at Berkeley Medical Center, the hospital moved its sleep lab to Inwood in August and opened a satellite office for rehabilitation and wellness services in September.

Inwood Neurology, the practice of Eduardo Zamora, MD, a board certified neurologist at Berkeley Medical Center, is also located in the building.

“We want to provide the residents of South Berkeley County improved access to health services,” Zelenka commented.  “With the recent service expansion, including the new urgent care, we are making these services more convenience for our patients in the Inwood area.”

Panhandle Builders and Excavating of Martinsburg was the contractor for Inwood Medical.  The building and land is owned by the City Hospital Foundation, a member of University Healthcare.
